Podcast Transcription: Success Story: How a 53-Year-Old Entrepreneur Transformed His Health & Mindset in Just 3 Days with the VIP Intensive 

Ted Ryce: What is up my friend and welcome back to the Legendary Life Podcast. I'm your host, Ted Rice health expert and coach to executives, entrepreneurs, and other high performing professionals. Today we have a special treat. Have one of my clients, Lawrence on today to talk to him about his experience on my VIP intensive. 

Now, a VIP intensive is where I work with a client. Over the course of a weekend, they come in, say Thursday, and we work together Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So you're probably thinking, well, why would anybody want to do that? Why would any It is probably expensive. Yes, you're right. And you gotta travel somewhere and all this stuff goes into it. 

Why would you want to do it? And he's gonna tell you exactly why, because we're gonna be talking about what made him decide to do the VIP intensive. What we did during the VIP intensive, how he feels different physically, mentally, and emotionally. The most powerful moments he experienced during the VIP intensive and more. 

So this is important, not just because I'm shamelessly promoting what I do, to be honest, it's very work intensive on our part to do this versus our virtual coaching, but we do it because people make breakthroughs. But what I want you to take away from this today is that there is a way to regain your motivation and to skyrocket your results. 

Now one of those options is working with me, but there's other things you can do. Okay. We've just happened to, you know, I have a lot of experience, so I packaged it. I, I know how to package an experience so that a client works with me and boom, big breakthrough over a weekend. But I want you to understand if you're kind of like in a place like Lauren's was where. 

You're kind of getting okay results. There are ways to take yourself to the next level and to do it fast. You don't have to wait until New Year's 2026 for that fresh start effect, that new year new you to roll around. You can do it before that. You are more in charge of your motivation than you think. So how does that all play out? 

Well, that's exactly what we're gonna talk about. So let's dive in. 

What made you decide to join this VIP Intensive and what were you hoping to get out of it?  

Laurens: I wanted to take things to the next level. I really wanted to experience to be with an expert for a whole weekend. I. Because I think when you want to take your health to the next levels, there's a lot of nuances that only can be kind of discovered where you are one-on-one with the person. 

I have a bit of a shoulder issue, so I need to have, uh, a very personalized approach in a very professional approach. Uh, you're the absolute experts. In this whole field of health and fitness. Um, but I wanted to make sure that, um, when I leave here, that I know exactly, uh, what to do, how to do my exercises, that you know me as good as possible so you can personalize, uh, my training exercises for me in the most optimal way so that I can get the best results possible. 

And man, it was worth it.  

Ted Ryce: And how do you feel different physically, mentally, or emotionally compared to when you arrived?  

Laurens: I have a clear vision now of the why, why I want to do this. So I'm 53 years old and I think a part of it is definitely that I want to be in great shape as well, uh, for the next 50 years of my life. 

Uh, and feeling good because, uh, things otherwise start to decline. Um, but I also want to be a role model for other people. I. Uh, I am a role model for people as far as finance and everything, but I think if I am a role model for people, that they can see that somebody from 53 years old is able to transform his health in, in, in such a way I can help other people, uh, as being a role model for that as well to say like, wow, I want to try to do that as well. 

And um, um, being a role model is a very nice position. To be in. And so that is, is, is super, super powerful for me. But also I wanna make sure that when I am 80 years old, that I look back to my life and say I got everything out of it. But also when I'm 80 years old, that I can go for walks, that I can spend quality time with my kids that are a lot younger, that have a lot more egi, uh, energy that I have. 

But I wanna be on that same level, at least as they are to do all the, the crazy and cool stuff that they want to do and that I can participate and that I look like in great shape. So that's like, that's like the big why.  

Ted Ryce: What were the most powerful moments or breakthroughs you experienced during the retreat? 

Laurens: I mean, we, we connected on so many levels. Uh, we connected of course, on. Uh, the level of you being the expert and mentor me, and we connected there, that we know exactly what we need to focus on and how to do it. But I think also on a personal level, we really connected incredibly well. Uh, it's been such a joy to be around with you the whole time, and it's, it's very long days, but they don't feel that long, honestly. 

I mean, we're at the end, the end right now. It's what, six o'clock or something? I'm cool with energy and we did three days of, of a lot of intensive stuff, but I feel that in my muscles all over my body, but my mind and my spirit, they're active, they're good. So there's a, there was a whole. Lot more than, than only the physical parts. 

Uh, there was a great connection and, uh, yeah, I consider you to be a friend right now. And, and that was that, I mean that sincerely.  

Ted Ryce: What part of the retreat exceeded your expectations the most?  

Laurens: The personalized approach that made us decide to have a complete. 180 degree changed as far as my daily workout routine based on the shoulder issues that I have. 

You were able to take a look at me, how I was doing the exercises. I could give you feedback immediately what my feeling was, and based on that, we changed everything 180 degrees and the repertoire of exercises that are in your brain that. Have you available? We completely changed it basically, and that would not have been possible if I wouldn't have been here with you, then it would only have been the data. 

Uh, and I could tell you something, but you observing me and saying like, okay, we need to change this completely. Yeah, that's probably six months of gains over there. So that's so much worth it. Uh, I think the other thing, and that's a little bit on a different level, I was, my whole life I was kind of afraid to do a martial arts sports. 

You took me twice to, uh, a Brazilian jiujitsu class with a super cool trainer as well, and we did kind of a crash course of Brazilian jiujitsu and uh, I'm a total fan of it now. I. Um, and I had so much resistance of that my whole life. And I think being able to get those breakthroughs, uh, of something where you're so afraid of and then after a weekend you get away with that and something that for decades I was afraid of. 

Now I'm like, okay, I want to get into that stuff. I mean, that was phenomenal for me.  

Ted Ryce: Would you recommend this experience to someone else? If so, why?  

Laurens: So we're talking here about your health, my health in this case and my future health for hopefully the next 50 years. That is the main thing. When my health is good, I'm gonna have a very high quality life. 

So investing. In my health is, is uh, more and more important the older I get, because otherwise I have to pay for maintaining my health to doctors and surgeries and stuff like that. But what I'm doing over here is investing in maintaining my health and improving my health that I'm getting in great shape and that is an investment for life, basically. 

So, uh, I can recommend that to everybody. If you have the resources, do it because it is absolutely worth it. Uh, you wanna work with an expert with somebody who really knows you, uh, and gets to know you even better when it's on a one-on-one basis. And, uh, I think you're the perfect guy for that. Absolutely. 

So I highly recommend it to everybody.
